EcoGeek is reporting that off the coast of Ireland, the world’s largest tidal turbine was just installed by Marine Current Turbines. The 1000 ton turbine will undergo 12 weeks of testing before feeding the power grid. While solar and to a lesser degree, wind power garner much of the attention, tidal power is still relatively off the radar.
